Previewing West End live in Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square

London’s love affair with the theatre is well known, and this year’s West End Live is the perfect way to experience a taste of the London stage while staying in England’s capital this summer. In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at what to expect…

What is West End Live?

The West End is world famous, but few people have the chance to see all the biggest and best shows the city has to offer. West End Live provides the ideal opportunity to share in the experience alongside a crowd of thousands of other people, within the confines of London’s historic Trafalgar Square. During your stay in Chelsea London, this is a fantastic way to really engage with one of the city’s most important cultural delights.

What’s on at West End Live?

The 2018 line-up featured the likes of West End classics Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, as well as Wicked, The Lion King and Everybody’s Talking about Jaime. 2019’s shows are sure to be every bit as impressive. While you stay at the San Domenico Hotel London, you will be treated to shows such as:

This award-winning musical has won rave reviews and multiple Tony Awards, and even spawned an Oscar winning film. Following 5 years absent from the London stage, Chicago is back and better than ever before – with memorable songs and fantastic dance numbers. Based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, the show focuses on the tale of two rivals who find themselves imprisoned in the same jail.

Bat Out of Hell – The Musical

With crowd pleasing songs and plenty of spectacle, Bat Out of Hell takes place in a post-apocalyptic world led by a tyrant. With everything from a doomed love affair to plenty of youthful rebellion, the show has iconic music from Meat Loaf and has already received rave reviews from both audiences and critics alike. If you’re looking for fun theatre while you stay in Chelsea London, this could be just the ticket.

Little Shop of Horrors

Offering something a little more offbeat for your West End Live experience, Little Shop of Horrors tells the tale of a monster plant, and is set within the grim streets of Skid Row. Based on the beloved 1980s film of the same name, this stage musical production features a fantastic cast and a dedicated creative team – all of which have gone the extra mile to bring the story to life in a whole new way.

Motown the Musical

Fans of Motown music will adore this stage production, and the chance to see it live and outdoors will help make the experience even more memorable! With incredible costuming and even more incredible songs, this is a real treat for West End Live audiences.
